Spacious Modern Shaker Kitchen

This modern shaker kitchen features our Killerton kitchen door painted in stone.  It’s a perfect blend of contemporary kitchen design with a traditional shaker door. 

Shaker kitchens have always been a popular choice for many of our customers and are often seen in period and traditional properties. However, they can work in modern and contemporary properties with the right design and décor. 

Our client knew they wanted a shaker style kitchen but needed some inspiration to help create their perfect kitchen. Having a social space to entertain friends and family was really important to them so we knew we had to create a spacious kitchen layout.  

Hannah, their kitchen designer came up with the idea of a peninsula kitchen island. This made the kitchen flow better and offered a healthy amount of worktop space. Perfect for entertaining family and friends. 

The countertops are Fiji 30mm Quartz and blend perfectly with the soothing kitchen décor. As well as looking fantastic, they also offer a practical hard wearing work surface. The matching splashback and sink with recessed draining grooves are a particularly nice touch and tie the whole kitchen together seamlessly. 

The shaker style kitchen units feature stainless-steel Henrietta cup and knob handles which give them character and match the chrome appliances, sockets and bar stools. 

Practicality is designed into the kitchen, and it features some cleverly hidden storage solutions, from bins and cutlery drawers to the glass-fronted wine chiller. This kitchen has plenty of storage for a busy family. 

But, the standout feature in this kitchen is the dresser. Our client wanted an elegant space to display their glasses, ornaments and gin bottles. Although it looks completely bespoke, the dresser has been cleverly designed using our standard units.  

The combination of curved end units and bronze tinted splashback create a unique look that perfectly complements the kitchen.  It just goes to show how thoughtful design can give a bespoke look without the price tag.
