6. Natural Features

We absolutely love designing kitchens in older properties with original features like exposed wooden beams or stone walls.

Wooden doors, ceiling beams, and worktops can add warmth, texture, and character to your kitchen. These elements can also bring a sense of history and authenticity to your space, particularly if you have an older period property.

Incorporating wooden elements can be a great way to add interest and visual appeal to your kitchen, especially if you have a more minimalist or modern design. You can also mix and match different wood tones to create a cohesive and stylish look.

7. Metallic Elements

Metallic features are also on-trend with copper and gold proving particularly popular. These can add a touch of class to handles, taps and matching accessories.

If you're looking to add a touch of glamour and sophistication to your kitchen in 2023, consider incorporating metallic features. Copper and gold are both popular choices that can add a luxurious and stylish touch to your space.

Bespoke pantries and larders are a popular trend in kitchen design

8. Clever Storage Spaces

If you're looking to update your kitchen in 2023, it looks like you'll want to focus on maximizing space and organization. Drawers, boxes, spice racks, and baskets are all great options for adding extra storage and organization to your kitchen. These elements can be incorporated in a variety of ways, such as through pull-out pantries, built-in spice racks, and under-shelf baskets.

Incorporating these design elements not only helps you keep your kitchen clutter-free, but it can also make it easier to access and use the items you need on a daily basis. Plus, these elements can add a touch of style and character to your kitchen, making it a functional and visually appealing space.

Quartz worktops are proving to be enormously popular this year

Marble’s natural and unique nature works for both traditional and contemporary kitchens. Marble can vary widely in colour and pattern so it can be tailored to fit any kitchen design you want and this is why it’s on trend for 2023.

Quartz is also known for its versatility and ability to work in both traditional and modern kitchen styles. It's also a durable and low-maintenance option that can be used for countertops, splashbacks, and more.

Interesting lighting fixtures can add character and charm to a kitchen. Thinking about how you light your kitchen space is incredibly important. Lighting is becoming a key aspect of the kitchen design process, and it can make a huge difference to the overall appearance of a kitchen.

It’s about thinking beyond spotlights and typical ceiling lights. Large pendants or industrial-style statement lights are now becoming a hot kitchen trend. For more inspiration, check out the gorgeous lights over at The Soho Lighting Company.
